I was first introduced to Strawberry Angle Food Trifle at my daughter’s funeral. A friend of the family brought it to the house and it was a big hit. I have made it several times and it’s always been a big hit with my family and friends. I haven’t tried to make any changes to it, but I’m sure you could add bananas along with the strawberries for an added twist or even substitute blueberries for the strawberries. It’s real easy to make.
1 – Angel Food Cake (already made)
1 – 24 oz. container of frozen sliced strawberries with sugar added (thawed)
2 – large packaged of vanilla instant pudding
1 – large carton of whipped cream
Fresh sliced strawberries for the garnish
Take the cooked Angel Food cake and tear it into chunks of cake. In a large bowl place a layer of Angel Food cake chunks and layer it with the thawed strawberries. Mix up the vanilla instant pudding according to the directions on the box. Pour a layer of the vanilla pudding over the Angel Food cake chunks and strawberries. Continue to place a layer of cake chunks, a layer of strawberries and top with the vanilla pudding. Top it off with the whipped cream and garnish with the fresh sliced strawberries (I’ve even topped it off with maraschino cherries). Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving. Enjoy!
